We'd love to take the entire process of gifting entirely off of your shoulders from design to delivery! We want to thank our sponsors who helped make this experience a huge success: Buttercream Bakeshop, Fancy Cakes, Just Write Studios, Blowfish, and Capital Kettlecorn and LaCroix! We also want to thank Amanda McCabe and her team at Beacon & Berkeley Events for their design and event planning direction. We could not have done it without them! And of course, thank you to Washingtonian Magazine for having us. He even pulled us all together for an impromptu group selfie immediately before opening up our exhibit to welcome couples into the room. Monte Durham from Say Yes to the Dress was even on-site and spent time hanging out with our team and even got involved with assembling a gift and giving us his strong opinions on how ribbons should be tied! We loved seeing that he's just as much of a perfectionist as we are when it comes to tying the perfect bow. The most popular colors, you ask? By far, burgundy and blush! We had many different colors of ribbon to choose from so couples could select a ribbon that best matched their wedding colors. To top it off, couples were able to choose a hand-calligraphed welcome tag by Jessica McSweeney who was in the room showing off her calligraphy skills in real life! Then they came to the center of the room where our team assisted them in tying ribbon as their finishing touch. We featured custom signage at each station such a "Pick Your Packaging," "Select Your Sweets," "Handle Your Hangover," "Grab Your Guide," and so on. This DC event was a chance for us to interact with engaged couples and bring them through the process of building their own welcome bag from selecting from a box or bag to adding locally sourced DC treats (sweet and savory!) to adding beverages, hangover kits, and even welcome booklets. Many thanks to everyone who celebrated with us, as well as our sponsors for making this special event possible. When we were invited back by Washingtonian Magazine to create another interactive Welcome Gift Experience activation for couples at this year's Unveiled bridal showcase, we were absolutely elated! We had such an amazing time at the 2019 Unveiled and couldn't wait to try to top what we did last year! We had an entire room at the Mandarin Oriental DC assigned to our team to set up and beautifully display the packaging options and gift contents much like is done at a pop-up shop! Guests indulged in cotton candy on glow sticks – one of many delicious desserts passed at the end of the evening. The final theme of the night was neon electric, at which point bartenders threw on their LED glasses and glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and started shaking up tequila cocktails garnished with LED ice cubes. Guests took advantage of the Dior lipstick bar, while others sipped on glasses of The Guild’s signature sangria with watermelon, pineapple and strawberry popsicles. Female servers swapped their toques in favour of a bold red lip, while the guys opted for lip print stickers on their cheeks. The sixth floor then transformed into a red hot party, featuring a three-piece band and high-energy dancers. halibut ceviche bar, and a Beretta Farms brisket slider station. O&B’s team of talented chefs also set up a variety of interactive food stations, including an East Coast oyster and B.C. Servers donning wooly toques passed rye cocktails spiked with bacon and maple syrup, as well as Canuck-style canapés like smoked deviled eggs and truffle mac & cheese with Heinz ketchup. The event kicked off in true Hudson’s Bay fashion with notes of Canadiana. To show off the diversity of the space, the O&B Events team planned for three theme transitions throughout the evening. Over 700 of the city’s movers and shakers walked the red carpet to attend Hudson Unveiled, our exclusive grand opening bash.
